What should a dorm couch be?
A dorm couch needs to be narrow, easy to bring in and quick to set up. The six loveseats on this page share three facts: each is 79 to 82 in wide, each ships compressed or vacuum-packed in one or two boxes, and none needs assembly. We do not know your room, so measure it. Below are the numbers to measure against.

Compression and carrying
Compressed boxes are slimmer than a finished sofa. The two 82 in corduroy loveseats come in boxes only 16.14 in on their short sides, and the tufted models are slim enough for a 30 inch door. The chenille loveseat is the heaviest single carton at 111.11 lb, so plan for two people.
Expect a wait before the first sit. The chenille loveseat needs about 72 to 96 hours to expand, and the velvet one about 72 hours. The corduroy models can take 2 to 7 days. Tap each piece after unpacking so the foam springs back.
Low, or split in two
- Lowest: the chenille loveseat, 24.8 in high, which folds flat into a mattress. Its listing mentions studios, game rooms, offices and dorms.
- Splits: both 82 in corduroy loveseats are two one-arm seats you can use apart.
- Floor sofa: the fleece loveseat is a legless block of memory foam that unfolds flat.
- Frameless with a footrest: the velvet loveseat has no frame and comes with a movable ottoman. Its footprint is 80.3 x 37.4 in.

Before you choose
Which box is the heaviest?
The chenille loveseat ships in one carton of 111.11 lb. The tufted corduroy loveseat box is 84.59 lb, the corduroy loveseat box is 83.6 lb and the velvet loveseat's larger box is 81.7 lb.
Do any of these fold into a bed?
The two 79 in loveseats do. The chenille one folds down its arms or backrest. The fleece one unfolds flat. Both give a floor-level bed. The velvet loveseat is not a sofa bed.
Do I need tools?
No. All six need no assembly. Unpack, tap each piece so the foam rebounds, and wait for it to fill out.
How long until the cushions are ready?
Chenille: about 72 to 96 hours. Velvet: about 72 hours. Corduroy: 2 to 7 days.
Can I use the 82 in loveseat as two chairs?
Yes. Both the tufted and the plain corduroy models are two one-arm seats that work apart.
Which dorm couches come with an ottoman?
Two do. The tufted corduroy loveseat with ottoman is 82 in wide, and its full depth is on the product page. The velvet boneless loveseat is 80.3 in wide and 37.4 in deep, and its ottoman goes in front of either seat.
